Over 10,000 Pounds of Food Distributed to the Community

Congolese Integration Network (CIN) announced this week that it has already distributed more than 10,000 pounds of food to community members — completely free of charge — as part of its ongoing effort to combat food insecurity.

For CIN, the milestone represents far more than a number. Each pound of food distributed reflects families supported, meals shared, and a community strengthened through collective care and solidarity. The initiative focuses not only on access to food but also on ensuring that the foods provided reflect the cultural traditions of the communities being served.

The effort is closely connected to the organization’s broader initiatives, including the Bilanga Project 2026, which promotes sustainable food systems, local agriculture, and cultural food sovereignty.

CIN officials also expressed gratitude to the partners, volunteers, and supporters who continue to make the program possible, including the Port of Seattle.

As the distribution continues this week, organizers emphasize that the goal remains simple: ensuring that families have access to healthy food while building stronger, more resilient communities. 🌱📰
