SEATTLE : Laughter echoed down the hallway before you even reached the room. On a typical evening, a room full of teenagers and young adults might just be a backdrop of noise. But last week at the Congolese Integration Network, that noise transformed into something far more powerful: a lifeline.
Dubbed a "Youth Hangout Night," the gathering was designed with a simple premise: bring young people together for fun, connection, and music. Yet beneath the surface of the games and casual chatter lay a deeper, intentional mission offering a safe harbor where young minds can decompress, process life's pressures, and find strength in community.
For many participants, the highlight of the night was the karaoke microphone.
