SEATTLE : In communities navigating an increasingly complex landscape of legal and social challenges, knowledge is more than just power it is a vital shield.
That protective shield just got a whole lot stronger.
Three staff members have officially become "Know Your Rights" (KYR) Certified through the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN). The milestone marks a major step forward in the organization's ongoing mission to advocate for, educate, and protect immigrant, refugee, and underserved families across the region.
An Intensive Path to Community Defense
Earning the certification was no small feat. The staff members completed a rigorous, intensive two-day training program designed to master the nuances of immigrant rights, legal protections, and community defense strategies.
With the certification now secured, these team members are fully authorized to deliver official WAISN Know Your Rights workshops and join the broader WAISN referral network for future training initiatives. It is a credential that immediately expands the organization's capacity to host community meetings, conduct outreach, and provide crucial guidance during emergency response efforts.
