Légal Light: Episode 1: Understanding Juvenile Offenses

There is no greater tool for building a just society than legal awareness.

Légal Light is a new video series of educational interviews designed to answer citizens’ legal concerns, featuring expert voices and grounded in real-life situations.

At a time when social media is increasingly flooded with superficial content, we are choosing to provide information that is useful, accessible, and rooted in lived realities.

Each episode is based on a real question from the public.

In this first edition, a Congolese woman reached out to us, seeking clarity on the rights of her younger brother, a minor who was arrested by the police.

To answer, we spoke with Maître Samuel Atweka, lawyer at the Kinshasa/Gombe Bar and president of the NGO PRODHOJ – Promotion of Human Rights and Justice.

He offers key insights into juvenile offenses, the legal protections afforded to minors, and the options available to families.

A resource to watch, share, and use.
