Congolese Integration Network Joins Regional Housing Effort to Advance Equity and Stability

Congolese Integration Network has announced its membership in the Housing Development Consortium of Seattle-King County, a move that leaders say strengthens its long-term commitment to equitable housing for immigrant and refugee communities.

By joining the Housing Development Consortium of Seattle-King County, the organization is now part of a broader coalition of developers, housing advocates, and community partners working toward a shared goal: expanding access to safe, affordable, and dignified housing across the region.

For the Congolese Integration Network, the partnership comes at a pivotal moment. The organization is currently advancing two capital housing projects aimed at addressing displacement while promoting community-led, culturally responsive housing solutions. Leaders say the connection to HDC will provide critical support—ranging from technical assistance to strategic partnerships—that can help move these projects from planning to implementation.

Beyond development support, the membership also strengthens CIN’s advocacy role. It offers a platform to elevate the voices of immigrant and refugee families and ensure they are represented in housing policy discussions that directly affect their futures.

At its core, the initiative reflects a broader effort to shift who has access to decision-making power in housing development—and how that power is used.

As the work moves forward, organizers describe the moment as both practical and symbolic: a step toward building not only housing, but also stability, inclusion, and long-term community resilience in King County.
