SEATTLE : The summer harvest yielded much more than flowers and fresh produce this year. Through sweat, soil, and teamwork, local youth successfully wrapped up the Congolese Integration Network’s (CIN) Youth Garden and Park Restoration Project, transforming local green spaces while cultivating their own futures.

Over the course of the program, young participants rolled up their sleeves to revitalize neighborhood parks and community gardens. But the hands-on labor was just a vehicle for deeper mentorship. Along the way, the teens gained vital life and career skillsmastering everything from landscaping and environmental stewardship to professional accountability, collaboration, and workplace ethics.

Rooted in Growth and Leadership

For the participants, seeing the tangible results of their hard work fostered a profound sense of civic pride. More importantly, it helped build the confidence and leadership capabilities needed to navigate tomorrow's workforce.

As the newly restored green spaces bloom across the community, they stand as a living testament to what young people can achieve when given the tools, trust, and opportunity to lead.
