A Powerful Day of Advocacy: Supporting the Welcoming and Healing Center

Yesterday, a transformative event took place as we joined forces for Homelessness Advocacy Day. Together, we rallied in support of the Welcoming and Healing Center, a vital sanctuary for refugees and immigrants seeking stability and support as they rebuild their lives in the U.S.

At the center, individuals fleeing war and trauma receive much-needed transitional housing and mental health services, offering them a fresh start. But it’s more than just shelter—it’s a safe space where they can heal, learn English, and integrate into society with culturally tailored support. The impact is profound: it’s a place where people can move from survival to thriving.

What made this day even more meaningful was the involvement of our clients. This wasn’t just an event for us—it was an opportunity for those we serve to engage directly with lawmakers, share their stories, and advocate for policies that matter. Their voices were powerful, and their presence was a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit.

We left this event more determined than ever to continue our fight for resources and support for those who’ve experienced unimaginable hardship. Together, we’re shining a light on the importance of community and the essential role of advocacy in creating a welcoming environment for all.

A heartfelt thank you to all who participated and to the legislators who listened. Let’s keep pushing forward—together, we can make a difference.
