SEATAC, Wash.  The spirit of unity and cultural pride filled the air on September 12 as the City of SeaTac and the Congolese Integration Network (CIN) joined forces to host a triumphant Immigrant and Refugee Welcoming Week celebration.

Against the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest aviation hub, community members, leaders, and families from a mosaic of cultural backgrounds gathered to celebrate the resilience, diversity, and profound contributions that newcomers bring to the region. Highlighting the day was the formal acceptance of a municipal proclamation by CIN, recognizing the indispensable role immigrants and refugees play in shaping SeaTac's identity and economic vitality.


A Blueprint for Belonging

The event served as a powerful reminder that true community is built on intentional connection and mutual respect. From shared cultural traditions to inspiring conversations about civic inclusion, the gathering reinforced a collective commitment to ensuring that every individual regardless of where they started their journey has the opportunity to put down roots and thrive.

Organizers expressed deep appreciation to the City of SeaTac, dedicated volunteers, local partners, and the enthusiastic attendees who transformed the day into a resounding success.
